Hello all. Sorry to beat the drum again, but I wanted to get some opinions regarding transmission fluid changes/flushes. I recently purchased a 2014 Highlander Limited Platinum that had 82,300 miles. I put on another 2k miles and decided to look into transmission fluid changes since the previous owner never serviced this fluid. Some people say to do it before 100k, some say do it every 30k once you get the vehicle brand new. Has anyone changed their transmission fluid around the same mileage as me for the first time and has it worked out since (with no shifting issues)?

I got my used HL a month ago and it had 150k Kms on it. Even though the records said it had been serviced at the 140k kms I went ahead and got the transmission fluid, brake fluid and both differentials flushed and replaced.

"Where did you go to get it changed?"

We take our cars to a good local mechanic who has done it.

As long as mechanic can check ATF level with a scan-tool, should be good to go. I find too many hacks in too many shops these days and tend to worry when owners has blind trust in their mechanics.

I've done 3 1-gallon cooler line pump outs on my U660 and just picked up 2 gallons for a little more fluid change exchange. This is in a non-abused daily driver and is about every 20k miles. I'm just about at 80k miles for my 4th. My 5th change will start at 100k with a filter replacement.

The transmission capacity is considerably more than a drain/refill. So, you either use the cooler line method and get more fluid out, or you shorten the interval some.
