I thought the same as well, but I think it would work with a front plate. The top edge of the TRD would be just below the bottom edge of the plate. Whether or not it would look as good as it does without a plate would almost take installing it to see.

i've been driving w/o front plates on several vehicles for all ten years i have been driving and have never had a problem. this is after several tickets and accidents (non have been my fault, seriously!!) through the years.

so screw the laws, you already have a rear plate...run the vinyl!!

I'd say you have been very lucky. A favorite thing with the police here is once they have you pulled over for something, then they get to really look. That is when they can get you for missing plate, burned out lights, cracked windshield, etc.

yeah i've played stupid when the cops pull me over when i drive the infiniti. i just told them that i didnt know because there are no holes in the front so i said screw it. i've only gotten pulled over twice and they have both been in LA and not back in SD

Its a sheet of vinyl with the "TRD" cut out.
