I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this problem but about 7-10 sec after I come to a complete stop at a light the truck will do a quick lunge forward. It's very noticeable and I'm afraid that if I don't have my foot securely on the break I could bump into the car in front of me.

The truck is definitely going back to the dealership but I'm curious if anyone has had this problem.

For reference my truck is an '07 DblCab Prerunner LB w/TRD Sport #2

I think its normal. I noticed this the first week or so I had my truck but I really haven't noticed it since. Either I've adjusted and press harder on the brake or the truck has learned not to do that like it learns your driving habits.

It's you A.C. compressor cycling. Just keep your foot on the brakes. and don't ride up the car in front.
It seems that most Toys seem to do this, GF's Taco does this, my corolla when the A/C worked did this, the Tundra does this to an extent but it's not bad.

Normal???

My buddies '06 Tacoma doesn't do that plus our family has owned 4 other Toyotas ('86, '95, '98, '03) and none of them have ever done that.

If this truely is normal than I'm a little dissapointed. I'm still going to have it checked out by the dealer and I'll keep you guys updated.

The new Tacomas have Delco A/C compressors. Delco is a GM part. Problem solved.

It's not just a problem with the A/C Compressor. I've had it happen when my A/C was turned off. It's a problem with the Driveshaft slip yoke not being greased enough from the factory. It therefore binds when stopping and stores energy which is released in the form of a lurch foreward. There are a few threads on it around here, some discuss the A/C some discuss the slip yoke and some discuss both. I'll see if I can pull up some links.

Nice find!
But as for my truck I know it is the A.C. Because at those long stop lights it will do it more than once.
But you may be right. It seems to have worked for others here! Extra lube can always help. Hell it couldn't hurt??

It only does it when the AC is on or Defroster (because is tied into the defroster setting) on my truck. Never does it with those two settings off.
