I can lock the truck, but cannot unlock it using the fob.

I get the same result using both of the original fobs and master keys.

I replaced the battery in both fobs.

Should I replace the immobilizer ECU?

Try reprograming the fobs. You can usually find the procedure online or the dealer should be able to give it to you.

the fobs cannot be reprogrammed - the truck does not go into a programming mode. No matter how many times I try the instructions of how to get the truck into programming mode, the truck never acknowledges the sequence by locking and unlocking the doors.

Is there any chance your lock motors are worn out? When I got my 2010, none of the locks worked. My wife found new ones on Amazon for less than $30 including shipping. They're a bit of work to change, but once you figure it all out it's not all that difficult.

The rears are harder than the fronts due to the child locks.
