I recently had a dual exhaust ran out the back of my 07 tacoma d-cab and I had to remove my spare tire. Now my TPMS light is on. I am getting a lift and bigger tires in the near future and was going to have to remove the sensors anyways. I have done a search and it seems no one has a solution to the 07's and up. Just looking to see if anyone has came up with an idea yet?? Any help would be great because this light is haunting me in my sleep:eek:!!!!!. Thanks guys!!

simple put the spare back. OR build a small PVC tube and pressurize it with the spare sensor in it and mount it somewhere on your truck.

If you guys read the last few posts of that thread, you'd see that that mod doesn't work for 2007s.

1badtaco83, why don't you just remove the LED from your gauge cluster? That's what I'm gonna do.
Thats another option. but some people want to make use of the TPMS system.

Hey Lotust let me know what you ended up doin....I have an 08' that I just lifted and put Toyo MT's on so now my lights on also.....buggin the crap outta me but dont know what to do!

BHaacke
Like I said. I have an 06 and the DIY mod worked for me. Im not sure if it does not work for all 07's or just the ones made after a later date. Your doing to have to do some reasearch. Pull the LED or made a small pod like I said. Or park your truck near the spare at night. I hear that works too. seriously

I thought about taking the LED out but I was hoping there was a wire mod that fixed it. I also thought about using a dolly tire and putting the sensors in there!! I seen someone searched for me but those mods dont work on 07's and up.

I will get some pics of it this weekend. I used a Flowmaster 40 series and ran Two 2 1/2 inch pipes out the back with 3 1/2 inch tips. Now I just have to relocate the trailer harness receiver. That thing hanging down in the back drives me nuts!!!!:ahhhh:

That's true. He did say he was gonna get a lift and bigger tires so he'd have to remove the sensors anyway. I just assumed that meant he didn't care about losing the system.

Making use of the system after a lift/wheel swap is easy enough to do, but why bother? Especially if you run a different setup in winter and summer. Give me regular ole' valve stems and I'll decide when my wheels need air like a big boy.:D

Careful, its the disable that may or may not work for '07s and up. The dolly/pipe still works:

OK 07+ guys, I got the pvc pipe bomb to work.

Several tricks to the process that I can give to those that aren't used to dealing with pipe, or trying to turn something in a pressure vessel.
First, like the diy says, use the 3 inch pipe. For padding, I just used paper towels. They are in there tight enough that I don't think it'll break down, as nothing moves around. I ended up heading to Ace Hardware and got a brass valve stem. I couldn't get the rubber ones to seal well. I drilled the hole in the cap to 1/2", then smoothed it with a round bastard file. It was just right to self-tap and thread on in. Then I put an o-ring on the inside, and then the nut. That should give you a good seal there.

One last thing- remove the valve core when you put it all together, to give the air a place to go when you put the last end cap on. You can end up with a small air hole through the glue if you don't. I hope this helps someone save a couple bucks over what I spent. But it was an excuse to buy more tools...:naughty:
BTW, it was still cheaper than buying a set of sensors to fit the new wheels.
Good luck.

Hey Lotust, thanks for the pics on the relocation of the harness plug. That looks awesome!! Is there still enough light to see the plate so that the "Bad Boys" dont mess with you?

Is yours a true dual setup, or single in, dual out? I just had a shop fab up a single in, dual out 40 series delta flow. I love it so far. They didn't have to move my spare though or anything. I'm waiting on tips, I'm thinking about getting some 3 1/2"s, I'd like to see those pics, I want to see how big they look, I don't want mine to look overly large. How does it sound, I really like mine so far, I'm hoping it gets even better as I have less than 200 miles on it.

Back to the original topic. I'd try the pressurized container with the sensors inside, low tech way to do it if you have an '07+.

I went with the pvc container method and it works great. No problems. I keep it in the storage under the seat. Here are some pics.

I used the screw top just in case there was a problem. Used blu block pipe dope on the threads, that is why the blue tape is around the top. Hope this helps.

No problems yet. I have an LED in the one side. Its not as bright as a regular bulb but it works.

I used a single in single out and put a Y on the exit of the muffler. I love my tips. They are powdercoated dark silver with black spackle on it. The 3 1/2 is definately a good fit on our trucks. Looks perfect in my opinion. And I love the sound of the 40 series. Has a mean tone to it and at idle it almost gurgles like a V8. I will take some pics ths weekend and post here.
