Well I took my two wheel drive mudding, it is stock height stock wheels everything is stock. We were doing good running across this mud pit (about 30 feet long 6 feet wide and about a two feet in the middle) then I tried to go through it. Well I got stuck in the water. I turned the truck off and called someone to get me out. It stayed in for about an hour. Well I didn’t start right off and when it did It wouldn’t idle. Well after it would idle it started shooting red hot pieces of something about of the tail pipe. I pulled the exhaust of at a union and it started up after a while. It died a couple of times on the way home. I checked the plugs and the air filter they were ok. Does anyone know what happened to my truck? Thanks in advance.

Red hot peices - Probibly blowing out your cat (its toast now)

As for your idle issue - did you pull out the plugs and turn it over, to make sure if you sucked any water in - it would blow out?

Was the water high enough for water to get into the intake anyways? (im not familer with the height of a stock 2wd)

Well catalytic converters hate water. So im guessing its probibly plugged up with gunk.

Look through it, if you can see through the screens then its fine - if not, buy a cheapo magnaflow highflow aftermarket (roughly 70 bucks in the us)

convertersexpress.com has a 54$ generic cat for your truck. The shipping is free, but you have to have it welded on. A muffler shop charged me 12$ to weld one on.

If you want it to get through the mud better next time without spending bookoo bucks, give it two inches of lift with the torsion bars and put inch blocks in the rear, and up your tire height and width accordingly.

yup, they do.
you could put your axle under the springs, thats 3" approximatly right there. then lift the front, and get some bigger tires.
a locker in the back will help a lot too
