Undercover bed cover

I just installed an Undercover bed cover on my 06 DC short bed. Overall I am pleased with it. There is a slight gap in the gasket on the outboard corners just behind the cab, I will probably fix that with a little gasket material. The cover secures my "valuables" but can be removed in less than a minute.

I also like my undercover

I have this cover, and I love mine. I sent a picture of my truck to Versacover, and they put the picture up on their web-site. I've been in some pretty heavy rain so far and have noticed very little moisture inside the bed area. I keep my golf clubs in the back nearly all of the time here in So. California.

One thing I've noticed -- be careful what you use to clean and protect it. I use light soap and water and a towel or light brush, and in most cases, nothing else after drying. As long as you get all of the dirt off, it will look nice and black after washing and drying. If you want some protectant, just a little bit goes a very long way.

I know a guy that bought one of these for his Chevy PU, and he used some type of special plastic protectant (sticky) substance that went on wet and dried supposedly clear -- a very big mistake! After a week of driving and dust, you could see every towel stroke he used when he applied this special protectant.

Be sure to check out the Versacover Web-site -- they go into lots of detail about what to use and what to avoid. Glass cleaner is a big no-no!

enjoy.

I have one too and like it a lot. Do get a little leak at the front corners where the gasket leaves the gap but nothing major and I can deal with it. Really it only happens going through the car wash or when there is a lot of water on the top and I forget to lift slowly to let it drain easy. Does not leak otherwise.

I do nothing to clean or treat it other then soap or the carwash. Per instructions from Undercover themselves( I e-mailed to ask specifically about care ).

Here is a good tip for you if you live in a colder climate. The locks can actually get moisture in them( condensation, from a wet key, and even just lifting the lock cover if it is raining or snowing )and freeze. Squirt a little quality synthetic lubricant in there( I use Royal Purple MaxFilm )and it will keep it free. Had mine freeze good on me once and it took a hairdryer and about 10 minutes to open it/dry the moisture up.
I like the looks, apparent ease of installation and removal of the Undercover and plan to install one on my truck in the next couple of months.
I may be getting an Undercover tomorrow... Is 303 Aerospace protectant ok to use on it??
To be honest...i have mine since july and put 303 on twice. The way the undercover is made, you really dont need anything at all. It shines like crazy without. Im pretty picky about the looks of my truck and it doesnt seem to need it. If you use some 303 dont use much or if it rains it will run down the side.
Very interested in getting one, would like to get some info from those that have. Noticed to different web sites that have these, versacover.com and undercoverinfo.com. Actually undercoverinfo.com gives you all the info and ability to find a dealer and versacover you can actually buy from. Which way did you all go through versacover of find a dealer through undercover. Also does anyone have any good side shots of the cover. Does it sit right over the bed rails as don't want any chance of rubbing paint off. Please bear with me with all the questions just got done buying a '07 DC Prerunner Silver Mica LB and looking for info for mods so you can all help me spend my money:D Thanks in advance

I agree, I have had mine for a year and it shines like new, just wash it.

Yes, it sets on top of and over the bed rails, you don't need to worry about the paint.
