In my 2013 Camry I’ve noticed my usb port doesn’t seem to charge my phone anymore. I know in the past it has indeed charged it up. Now it will give me the charging icon for a moment and then go away. Is it not meant to charge the phone or could this be another issue?

In my experience, the built-in USB port is more intended for data like a thumb drive loaded with music than for charging. I haven't tested what its current delivery capabilities are, but I know my newer phone doesn't charge "fast" or really effectively at all with it. I just use a 12v cigarette lighter USB adapter to charge, as that delivers enough current to charge my phone.

I borrowed one of those from my friend and plugged it in and it charged my phone long enough to take it up around 5% before I realized it had quit charging again. Maybe my cable is going bad? Or it’s just a cheap adaptor? I’m using an iPhone XS Max and I’ve had it for 4 years so it could just be that the phones battery system isn’t what it use to be. The power source has no problem running my handheld tire air kit
