I'm considering buying an 04 Tacoma with 60K miles from the Salt Lake City area. Some Internet research has told me that Utah does use salt on it's roads so I'm wondering how much of an issue body rust is in this area for Taco's?

My 'Taco was owned in the salt lake area for the first 7 years of it's life (approx 74000 miles, if memory serves).
It had absolutely no rust on it what-so-ever when I bought it in 2004. The only rust it's showing now is on a couple of miniscule paint chips that have developed this winter.

Thanks for your input monkeee2002. I'm also concerned on what the road salt does to the underside of the truck, that is inner body parts, rocker panels, frame, etc. Anybody else have some input on this?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant that the only rust that is on my truck is due to recent rock chips on the body. (specifically the hood). There is no rust on my frame, rocker panels, cross members, inner body panels. There is also no rust on my seat covers, headlight lenses, and seat belt strap, if that helps any.
