I just installed a new 22R in the 86 pickup and need to adjust the valves after i break in the cam this weekend.

Anyone know the required valve lash or where I could find it?

I cant remember, but a good repair manual should have it...like Chilton or Haynes. Its worth it to spend the money and get a good manual. I prefer the Chilton over the Haynes.

intake i believe is .008 in and exhaust is .012 in. this is from a FSM

Just remember they are the specs to adjust when the engine is HOT.

Intake is .08mm will fit .10mm wont. Exhaust is .10mm will fit .12mm wont. Must adjust with engine warm.

Read on several sites that a cold lash adjustment of 0.007 intake and 0.011 exhaust works very well. I need to do mine this summer, so I'm going to see if it's true.
