I have a 2012 Corolla CE which is a base model here in Canada.
I have the one speed intermittent wiper switch but want to upgrade to the variable intermittent switch.
I have done my research and am confused. There are different part numbers floating around, but I think I narrowed it down to 84652-02710. I was looking for used and some sites describe this part number as correct, yet others say this part is not compatible.
I did order 629-0576R but this came and it is what I already have.
Has anyone used the 84652-02710 switch to do the upgrade?
For those who suggest I go to the dealer, I did and that is why I am posting here.
A huge thank you for any info.
Tom

Thanks for the reply.
I checked part numbers and found 84652-02700 is the part that is currently on the car.
84652-12B20 is no longer available
84652-02710 is what I am left with. Went to dealer today and they aren't sure if this is the right number.
I have more faith in this forum than a dealer.

Parts people are just parts people, they can be a resource but you have to just as knowledgeable if not more. In addition, while it is likely that their parts diagram are the same if not more advanced than what we can see from almost any Toyota Parts Website we don't know what they are looking at unless they show you. Almost any parts person can find you ATF, a bumper cover, or anything else but when you dive deeper in to it (like the difference between Part A1 and Part A2) they won't know much. It's more up to the person to know what they are trying to look for.

It's gonna be the same with anything in life, retail, online shopping, car repairs, anything. If you go in blind you will get the wrong item. Give them as much information as possible and the likelihood of getting the wrong item is decreased.

When I worked at Target, you can ask me on the phone for a grey blanket with designs on it. I will have no clue what you are talking about and can only take a good guess at what you are looking for before I have guest services hold the item. Now if you call me and tell me you are looking for DPCI 123-45-6789, then I can find and guarantee that the item you are looking for I most likely found.

This is a pretty expensive upgrade for a basic feature that I thought all modern cars included. Just bought one used on eBay. All Amazon reviews are only mentioning using it in a Tacoma or Tundra. I see it listed to fit a Corolla as well, but it only lists years 2012-2013. I have a 2011 so really hoping it will still work.

Intermittent switch fits many different models. Check a Toyota site for fit. Such as,

It's plug n play.

This is exactly my concern. The 84652-02610 part that you link says it is for the earlier 10th gens (2009-2011). The part I ordered was the 84652-02710, which only lists compatibility with 2012-2013. The only difference I see is that the 02710 has words on it, instead of just symbols. I can't imagine it wouldn't work, as they are probably identical otherwise.

I do believe that either one will work.

For anyone wondering, as expected, this switch (84652-02710) did work and is compatible with my 2011.
I knew it would work okay. :);)

Thanks for posting the results. Many people have asked questions and never posted the final outcome.

Wanting to do this mod for a while and this thread inspired me. Found the 2610 switch on ebay for 49.99 with free shipping.
Super easy install. Like the post above. Pop open collar, pop out old and install the new one.

For anyone with a 2011-2013 matrix with only one setting for intermittent you can get one off a prius with rear wiper.
