It should be listed on the ID plate on the drivers door jamb. Or a tag on the trans.
P.S. You only have 16 characters, VIN's are 17. And I think the VIN will only tell you if it's a manual or automatic, not which model of either.

As DCM said the trans info is on the ID plate.

In my 83 the plate is in the engine compartment above the passenger side wheel well.

The 83 factory manual has rebuild instructions for a W52 and a G52 for the 5 speed 2 wheel drive configuration.

Not without a picture. Pretty good chance it’s an L52. The nice thing is that a w58 from the 22r celica will bolt up, and that’s a far better transmission

I’ve had my 83 pickup since 1987 so I assume the W52 transmission is the original and untouched until I rebuilt in 2021.

I’ve read on this forum that this transmission was mainly used in Australia.

Wikipedia agrees with this and further says it was used in pickups 1984-1988.

I don’t know if it’s of any help, but the W52 steel case carries what looks like a Toyota part number: 33111-20091 and the aluminum extension housing: 33141-20090 and SK 13A, no numbers on the bell housing.

I found no additional tags.

Per the factory manual, the L52 and L45 are for 4x4 trucks.

replying to myself: No, my mistake, on closer examination I see the L transmissions can be used on 4x2 and 4x4 trucks.
