Viper alarm systems

I've spent alot of time searching for this answer (even our forums) and have had no luck finding a definitive answer. I'm trying to decide between the Viper 5900 and 7900. I have a 5900 on my Civic at the moment and love it, but for my Tacoma I would like to have the glass break and automated windows. Viper doesn't have the 7900 on their website and the only place that has it is techronics.com. My questions are..

1. What are the differences between the two systems

2. What would I need besides the main system to install it correctly?

PS. I work for a Best Buy and they can install any Viper system as long as I provide the parts they need so I'm going to stick with this brand

Thanks,

Does it come with a remote start? If so then you'll need a PKALL or similar. I've been told idatalink has one of those all in one systems that will integrate with the stock electronics. If you really want to get in depth with it, I suggest going to the12volt.com and talking to some of the guys in the forum there. You aren't going to get many answers here.
I know this doesn't answer your question, but is this through the accommodation program at best buy? If so, great prices.

Good luck w/ the system, I like the 5900's, I think soon I may try to put one in.
They're both remote start and security

EDIT: no, techronics is independent, sadly BB stopped carrying the 5900 and we never had the 7900 so that's why I'm having such a hard time.
I have a python remote start (they're pretty much the same, python, viper and a couple others are all DEI products), and I can only tell you what I know. I'm trying to prepare to install my own remote start. Here's a thread I started over at the12volt.

They were very helpful, and hopefully all the information you could need to install it is there.

Also a wiring diagram.

Have fun, I haven't even started mine yet... Lol

I think I'm going to go with the 5900. It doesn't seem like it's worth the upgrade to the 7900. However, are there any override chips or bypasses I need to purchase to install this? According to the Viper website I will need PN# pk05. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

:headbang:

Read that link I sent you from the12volt.com and all your questions will be answered.

You'll want a PKALL or if you want to give up a key, a 555U or 556U will work.
