as any body completed one yet? ive got a 80 yota with a 4speed and ive found a w58 for 100bux but im not shur if it will fit. will i have to modify the rear mount? and does the stock drive shaft work?

Yup; any transmission that bolts to a 20R, 22R, or 22RE, will fit on your engine. I can't remember if you have a 20 or 22R, but it doesn't matter.

its a 20r. i know it will bolt up to the motor but what about fitting it in my truck? the shifter assy. is on top were the 4speeds is on the side, and what about the tranny mount?


80 2wd 20r 4speed.

I'm not familiar enough with the L gearboxes to say 100% on your last question, but being that the 52 and 43 were used in the same generation of truck, they should interchange.
Crawl underneath the truck and look at the mount. You'll be able to tell if it's the same. Toyota mounts are often interchangeable too, so the mount on your 4-spd should fit your newly acquired tranny.

ya ill have to get under there but i have no jack and my just sits about 8" off the ground so that poses a problem. ill try and measure the leaght of the 4speed while im under there to.:thumbup:
