Hi, I was wondering if it's normal for the water to take 2-3 seconds to squirt out of the nozzles, which is enough time for the blades to go all the way up and back down against a dry windshield. Also, the pump seems pretty weak, only squirting water to about halfway up the windshield, but the wipers carry the water up anyways so thats probably normal. I'm mostly concerned about the delay, as I'm scared of scratching the windshield. Also when I bought the car, the pump was broken, and it was replaced by a shop, so I'm unsure if it was OEM or not. Thanks!

Also, its an 05 Corolla CE. Should be the same between all of the 9th gens, but just in case it isn't, there you go.

Do your nozzles have 3 nozzle arrangement per side?

If the pump was broken, no water would reach the nozzles.

Check your hoses and nozzles for damages in the hoses and clogging in the nozzle assembly.

Not sure what you mean by the first bit, theres 2 nozzles on the hood, each with just one hole.

Holes in the tubes. A small leak will make the delay with air pockets having to evacuate before water pressure rises high enough to spray.

Now that you mention it, I did notice a little bit of water dripping under my car on the passenger side of the engine bay (which happens to be where the reservoir is, lol), but I figured it was just rainwater. I tried looking for leaks but I didn't want to remove the inner fender (fender liner?) since I was short on time, but sometime in the next few days, I will. Thanks!

Editing this to say it most certainly wasn't rainwater because if I didn't notice anything dripping after a hurricane passed through my state, it probably wasn't rainwater.

Check the tank for cracks around the pump.

I had that problem, only to discover that over the years the rubber tubing has deteriorated and bits of the rubber then find their way to the nozzles.
I cured the problem by installing new rubber hose and nozzles.
If you are shopping for new nozzles you should avoid the cheap ones which cannot be moved, buy the nozzles which have metal type bug eye inserts and are movable.

I had a leak in my windshield washer reservoir and bought a new one on Amazon, it included a new pump. I installed it and the pump was half of the strength of the 23 year old original.Only squirted half way up the windshield. So I put the old pump back on and problem solved. 1999 Corolla.
