Here it is ladies and gents. . .a few of the 09' rolla owners already posted pics of their setup of weapon R SRI. but there have been many requests of pics even though setup was relatively easily. so upon setting this up, i decided t take some pics to help those out. so hope you all enjoy and please no negative comments on SRI. k thanks

My 2009 Corolla S w/ 6000K HID, 35% tints all-around, and now weapon r secret intake SRI.

So there you have it folks . . . the pics almost correlates to the same order as the directions that weapon r gives w/ the SRI package. feel free to ask questions if unsure about some of the pics, i'll be more than happy to answer. ENJOY! :D

thanks! when tax money comes back . . . maybe work on the exhaust or set of rims and of course pics will be posted as well
about the clamp....is the black metal strip the only mounting of the intake?
Have you noticed any gains in performance and mpg?

That looks like a really clean install. Thanks for posting. Has it created any check engine lights?
Question on clamp: Yes. That black metal strip (4th pic from bottom) is the mounting bracket used for the intake. it actually comes w/ two...but instructions on where to place was realllllllll awkward and made no sense, so i just needed one. But if you are also wondering if it's sturdy. Yes it is =)

hmm.. to answer your question. performance wise, it does have a bit more kick to it and does pick up a bit faster. mpg...well i think i'll end up burning more gas b/c of the freakin' awesome sound it makes when u gas it! :naughty: and as for check engine light..none. hope this answers it
Where did you buy from and how much was it? Is it really that much more noticeable of a sound? sorry.. noob to SRIs and CAIs, etc...

haha it's alright, i'm actually quite noob to alot of these things...just kept researching was all  but as for the purchase point, i got mine from ebay for 203$ shipped. you can also get it from http://www.racinglab.com/weapon-r-intake-sc-toyota-corolla-020.html make sure the model number is 305-164-101 . as for the sound, i can honestly say yes you do hear a noticable sound esp when kick'd to 3k rpm and up. someone on another thread stated it kinnda sounds like a turbo kickin' it ....not exactly like a turbo, but you do hear the same effect like a spooling sound. hope this answers your questions. any more feel free to ask.

So on the installation manual, where does it ask you to mount the intake to? And that two metal pieces are straight when they are out of the box, right? You did bend it?
looks good. It would be interesting to see how much intake air temps increase (not good for making HP). Anyone with a ScanGauge they can plug in to check the increased IAT? With the metal tube acting as a heat sink and the intake now being closer the the exhaust manifold, IAT must be substantially higher.
Lots of hypermilers mod their intakes to do this also as it improves fuel economy. WAI(warm air intake) They usually use parts from Home Depot though....

honestly...the instructions don't tell you where to exactly place your intake  once you connect the weapon r intake pipe to throttle body, you get a good idea where you need to rotate it around. and yes, in regards to the metal mounting pieces; they were straight from the box and it's quite bendable which you have to do to get the right angle. i'm no superman, my lil bro can bend that stuff.

I am being serious so if you respond to this please be serious.

How do you gain HP and torque by sucking in Hot Engine compartment air?

Is flow restricted on the stock filter setup?

He is more than serious...there is a dyno proof on the forum. 5hp and 5lb/ft of torque gain with the intake. I know the SRI has disadvantage of sucking warm air from the engine bay, but you should consider the intake lets in more air and increase the velocity of the flow as well.
That's what the aftermarket marketing depts want you to believe any how.:disappoin
I believe I questioned that when it was 1st posted. 6% humidity in Houston......yeah right.........and besides, 4.7 hp difference between dyno runs is simply a margin of error factor. You can't do back-to-back dyno pulls and get identical results. Again, 4.7 hp, just a margin of error factor, nothing more and far from proof of any benefit. Marketing depts wouldn't lie to you............or would they.:headbang:
