im taking a road trip to florida soon. im wondering what car i should rent? i want it to be comfortable and reasonably cool. guess i could always rent a gen 6 :thumbdown! jk. i might actually rent one. is there any car that you guys are aware of that enterprise might carry that comes with an ipod connect option? that wouuld be the shit. i know alot of newer cars are coming with them. going on a road trip without my integrated ipod and mp3 dvd-r's isnt too appealing to me...

yeah, ive gotten a silver gen 6 rental in boston before from enterprise. i was excited but then the tire pressure sensor went off and we turned around and gave it back. then they "upgraded" us to a jeep patriot. it was weird sitting in the back of the camry though, it was a new experience.

also does have an aux audio jack. hard to find and plug in while driving. FYI

I reserved a Ford Fusion from some rental place a while back in La Guardia and somehow the rental place didn't have it. They said that the class I reserved is a Monte Carlo...WTF...The web site said Ford Fusion or similar. Anyhow, they somehow didn't have anything like it when I went to pick up the car and they offered me a discount to upgrade to a Jeep Liberty which I wasn't wanting and then they said they'd upgrade me to a Jeep Liberty for free which really sucked.

Why does a SUV suck? Because the damn thing only got like 20 MPG going from La Guardia to Philadelphia and back with me and two passengers. Although the seats were more upright, the car seemed less roomy than a mid-size like a Fusion that I wanted. What sucked more was that the vehicle had 4x4 which just added unnecessary weight and increasing fuel consumption.

The wife recently rented a Dodge Charger....she liked it!

Had one for a few weeks...drives pretty heavy, clunky...feels like pushing a big block of metal around the corner if only equipped with anything less than the Hemi. High output V6 :thumbdown is simply not enough to make it a fun , nimble driving machine. Now, with the Hemi things are looking up much brighter :D....SRT8 is simply roaring fun.

...if your rental budget allows, I had good experience on long trips with a 300C luxury rental class (Sat radio, aux input, heated leather seats etc are all included) - only thing I did not like is the often mushy steering response but long trip rental is just cruising on the highway.

sorry just got around to checking this thread. i dont want to drive my own car because i like it. i drive it enough and a trip to south florida on my new rims and tires seems unnecessary when i can just rent one. plus when i rent one, and this is the main reason, i dont have to give a crap about it. park where i want. drive it like theres no tomorrow, etc.
