I have been made the moderator of the wonderful pre-88 pickup section. i wish i was more a part of this section, but i hope that i will own a 1st gen sometime in the near future. in fact, i am searching fr an '83 4x4 right now! but thats beside the point. i want to know, what do you guys what in your section? are there any Stickies you guys would like? stickies are threads that will always be at the top of the forum. suggestions would be threads about common repairs or modifications that people ask about all the time. or if you have a helful like that would be great to have available very easily. please let me know if there is anything you guys want to be added to your section. i will be around as much as i can to help keep the forum clean, deleting double posts and such.
let me know what i can do!

maybe a link to some of the aftermarket providers like trail gear , marlin , all pro. i know that there are a few links to an 85 fsm and other important info floating arround.

i also think they should split into 1st gen , 79-83 ,and second gen 84-88 rather than the pre 88 because 86-95 4x4's share the same suspension for the most part as well as the 79-85's with the solid axle...

well, give me what you want yo be added and i will put it up.
the problem with splittin the 1st and 2nd gen. is that it would be a small section. there really wouldnt be that much info flowing through the forum. BUT if you guys want that to happen, i can put a word in and see if it is possible.

you have to have server space from somewhere to upload the pics and then link then into the little image icon. you can buy space from anywhere including tn.

cam i was just saying they should split it up among generations but now that i think about it your right, this forum (pre 88) is always dead as shit!!

I'm new here, but what about splitting everything up into sections. They could be stickies. It might be out of the question, but it could be sectioned out into certain areas like:

Quick Tune-Up Help
Carberator
Transmission
Clutch
Tires
Suspension
etc...

subliminal, i put up the poll to see what everyone thinks. i personally dont think it is a good idea, but maybe everyone wants it..... who knows.

Chompy, the only problems with splitting it up into smaller sections like that is it is really hard to to keep track of everything. having to jump between different sections and remember what thread was where and all that stuff. the way it is now makes it much easier to see a large group of threads and know where everything is!

As far as stickies go, I think there should be a FAQ thread at the top, to help answer the questions that all the newbies post, most of which have already been answered. Also maybe links to other forums as well as other websites like trail gear, marlin and even pirate.

How 'bout a sticky for photos

I've been enjoying photos of trucks in the other sections/years of the Truck Forum and thought it'd be cool to have a sticky to easily see what everybody's got here in the pre-88 era. Mine isn't all that much to look at, yet, but I'd be happy to post pics. And I enjoy seeing everybody else's because, well who here doesn't like looking at a nice truck. Plus maybe I'll get an idea here or there as to what to eventually do with mine.

Not sure if there's interest among others for this, but judging from the # of responses in the other sections it seems pretty popular.
