I just got a coupon flyer from my Yota dealership and they have something I've never heard of.

Basically, they want $185 to change the oil, rotate the tires, and check a bunch of stuff.

But it also says they add an additive to the fuel and the engine. I assume the fuel is just injector cleaner but what is the engine additive? (I've never been a believer in Slick 50 or anything)

Anybody know?

Thanks!

I was hoping a Yota mechanic would answer this......they must be busy or something.

Just sounds like a money making opportunity for them to me. Something that they can charge a 200% markup on and say the did....even if they open a bottle and pour it in.:disappoin

I add BG 110 (MOA) and BG 208 (44k) at 5000 mi oil changes.

As for the yellow color, there is a new TSB (EG001-06) that says 2006 model year vehicles come with "ILSAC GF-4" oil. The new oil is compatible with all previous oil standards, and should be used at all maintenance intervals.

I have no idea what ILSAC GF-4 is. Any engineers?

The suggested viscosity for our Tacomas is 5W-30.
