lol that's pretty badass. Very very curious to hear the lope with 264s on a 5sfe and to see how the powerband shifts.
:bash:What are those for?
:bash:
sorry im not as mechanically inclined as some people on here. i didnt mean to not know it!
No Prob, Sorry I kinda figured you were joking.
Those are the Camshafts, which controll how much and for how long the valves open.
A toyota 16 valve 4 cylinder has two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder. One cam is for the intake valves and one is for the exhaust valves.
www.howstuffworks.com has cool animations of how they work in the internal combusion engine section.

I am very curious as well to see both effects of these cams. It's just been cold here I MN(I just heard thunder), so I haven't been in the garage much. Waiting for more parts to be dropped at my back door. Then I'll start ripping apart the engine and start ceramic coating some things....lol that's pretty badass. Very very curious to hear the lope with 264s on a 5sfe and to see how the powerband shifts.
Haha...I'm wondering the same thing....where did ya get em from and what did it cost ya?
Ted Componets in Canada. Richard the manager there is good stuff. It took me a good time to get these made. I started this last summer, inorder to make these you need rev 2 cams so from a 94-01 5sfe(more material on these cams) Richard may be working on a 5sfe performance program, but he told me it won't be cheap. As far as price..... Let's just say webcams or coltcams 600usd for cams is a rip...Haha...I'm wondering the same thing....![]()
264 is the regrind or degree of the camshafts. This particular profile is quite agressive, and will need a good tune. Other camshaft profile are 294, and 763. The 763 is close to the 264 in performance. Mr T on mr2oc is running that profile. With the 5sfe it's all about airflow and getting this engine to breath, which the stock head fails at doing. I'm going to be shipping out another set of cams so that TEDS can find the limits of these camshafts.wat are 264's and wat do these cams do exactly? how different are they from stock? do they give u more overlap or sumthing?
sweet! i'm actually looking to do a head/cam swap with a Lexus ES 300 with VVT-i, then tunning i hope![]()
