Hi,

I just upgraded my stock wheels, 175/65/14 (Goodyear NCT5 tyres) to 205/45/16 (Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 tyres).

Feel that the steering wheel is heavier.
Noisier. Could it be due to the 50% AD07 ?
Is the noise likely due to noisy tyres or because of rim upsize ?

Still monitoring the fuel consumption but it's definitely going up.

Care to comment ?

since you now have lower profile tires, the tread can't soak up as much noise and vibrations before it hits your wheel, then you car. the steering is probably heavier feeling due to the increased width of the tire, more contact on the ground, the better the tire holds, the harder it is to steer. I never had that problem when I put wider 17s on my Honda, the steering was already too light in the first place. I doubt you would see better gas milage from upsized rims and tires, unless you bought some extremeley light rims.
