I have an 1987 sr5 turbo pick up. I bought a new altenator and put it on. When i hooked it up, and turned it on. It pops the fuse that works the dash gauges. whAT CAN IT BE? Do i need to get a external voltage regolator or is it somewhere on the truck?:headbang:

It's probably inside the alternator like many new ones.

Yes, that is correct. The regulator is indise the alternator.

it says that my altenator has an external voltage regulator... and my truck does not have one on it. if it does i cannot find it.

All 87s have an internal regulator. Simply put, you have the wrong alternator.
