This is what I could find on the 4.0 Engine, not sure about the transmission yet.

1GR-FE

The 1GR-FE is a 4.0 L (3955 cc) version built in Tahara, Japan. Bore is 94 mm and stroke is 95 mm. Output is 236 hp (183 kW) at 5200 rpm with 266 ft.lbf (382 Nm) of torque at 3800 rpm.

Applications:
It is/will be made in Alabama. If it is not yet it will be soon. From Toyotas news section.

All of the 1GR-FE engines have Japan origin for the '05 Tacoma. I believe the US-sourced 1GR-FE (TMMAL) engines became available late August of this year and subsequently, on the '06 Tacomas.

The Alabama plant was built to supplement Japan production because the Japan plant could not keep up with the production schedules of NUMMI and TMMI (Tacomas and Tundras respectively).

Naturally, the Japan plant is considered the mother plant and was used as a model in the production and set-up of the AL plant to ensure quality in-process.
