So the local usual suspects (NAPA, Autozone, Advanced, etc.) do not sell them anymore. I tried looking online with no luck. I saw in the archive that Toyota dealers will sell one for $68....I was hoping it'll be like $30. NAPA sells brand new one for $92, with reservoir.

I just find it odd that they'll sell cylinder and caliper rebuild kit, but not master cylinder. It's like rebuilding things have gone the way of getting rotors turned.....they want you to just buy a new one.

they dont sell them becuse there is so little to rebuild, its cheaper to just buy a reman, i got mine from adanced auto for 90 bucks minus a $25 core charge.

All Gone!

I recently spoke to a Bendix Brakes engineer and other people in the organization and they all said the same thing; "We can't compete and no longer sell or market small parts."

For that matter I can't find anyone local who wholesales Bendix brand parts either! So pick away at RockAuto cause after that stuff's gone I fear its import remanuf only. . .

We the few remaining DIY'ers just don't generate enough business to support packing, shipping, distributing, and marketing small parts therefor its all dried up! :thumbsdow

Master cylinder replaced.

Replaced brake master cylinder with one I purchased from Chris Cash. Bled and flushed out brake lines and now I have a nice solid pedal without any pulling or grabbing.Feels a lot safer now.I would recommend replacing the MC if you are having a soft pedal that is not cured by bleeding or replacing brake pads.My Camry is a 96 wagon with 260,000kms on it. I love it now that the brakes are finally up to snuff.
