Hello all, FNG here. I just completed the fog light mod on my new 2010 TRD. Took about 10 min. After the hookup, I had the check engine light come on, I disconnected the battery for about 20 min or so and all is good now.

Now it's time to install my ham radio in the truck. I drilled a hole in the back of the lower storage area under the heater controls so I could snake the power wire and antenna wire and install the radio in that storage area. I got as far as trying to find a spot where I can tap into a power source. I am running 14 gauge wire and the fuses in the inside of the truck are too small to tap power. Anyone have any suggestions where there is an easy hookup?

Thanks in advance

I ran a dedicated fused wire straight from the battery. Wanted the radio to be powered at all times - not just with the key turned ahead.

Yes, you should run power directly from the battery.

I added an auxiliary fuse block, so the radio is fused there as well as inline.
