Hey guys I'm about to buy subs but worry that they might take too much space. Does anyone have the dimensions for the trunk of a gen 6 camry? I don't have my car with me right to to measure it. I was hoping to fill that gap in the back where its smaller than the rest of the trunk with 2 12" subs. The box that i wanted to get was this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/DUAL-12-inch-SU...ryZ50565QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

DIMENSIONS:
28" Wide x 18" Bottom Depth x 14" Top Depth x13" High

Can anyone tell me if this will fit into the trunk? or should I just get 1 12" sub or just get smaller subs.

Thanks for the help

The subs I was planning to get were the Kenwood KFC-w3012. Can someone provide me a link to a better enclosure for them that would work efficiently for under $100?

Yes that will fit but it's complete overkill. And what's up with those great 300W tweeters that they give you for free? Hahahahaha

I have 3x 10" JL audio speakers in a JL powerwedge box, if you can find out the exact dimensions of that box, it fits PERFECTLY into that space right behind the rear seats. you have to actually squeeze it in a little but it's a firm fit and the slant of the back of the box parallels the slant of the rear seat but it allows enough room for a rear-seat mounted amp and capacitor, couldn't ask for a better fit.

Are you asking how much room it would take up? You should worry more about what type of speakers you are getting since each one needs a certain amount of air space to sound their best. Need to know the cubic ft you need.

The box does not fit nicely. The cutout behind the rear seat is barely 27"...that means you loose 4" depth in addition to the already very big box (18" bottom depth + 4" - box will come out 22" measured from the back set). That leaves almost no trunk space.

A nice fitting box with a single 12" amp is the Rockfort Fosgate P3-SL box (27" wide, 4.5"/6" deep loaded with a shallow mount 12" Rockfort Fosgate P3 sub). That box is a slender wedge and fits perfectly in the rear seat cutout - needs a little push to get in. You can buy that online for ~$200 or at best buy.

you can get a nice L7 SoloBaric 10" in the proper enclosure with 600 W RMS amp that will rock your world AND still keep your trunk space...just follow manufacturer's reccomended cubic requirements...and you can get just a box for much less.

What you mean overkill?
1) It's too large for a sealed box. At least if it was ported...

2) 2 cheap 12" subwoofers won't sound better than a single 10" or 12" quality sub with proper amplification.

But judging from the box, you're going for cheap and not quality...

You can achieve quality "big" sound without the need to lose your entire trunk you know...

Ebumdude...you never showed us pic's of the final install! Got some?
I know, I totally forgot. After work tomorrow, I promise I will post them.

I like these, but there a bit expensive. T_T

What kind of subs and amp do you have with these?
I have two 10" Polk MM2104's and for the amp, it is a TMA T1000.1, (made by JL)

Pics will be taken and posted tomorrow.

I promised pics today....

As luck would draw, I have to go out and do some patrols in the Gulf of Mex. I should be back on Sat or Sun.

Pics will then surface of the enclosure.

Sorry fellas. See you in a few days.
