My wife just bought a 2020 Corolla! Woohoo! It has 195/65/15 wheels. I'm searching for used 15" Corolla rims on which I can mount snow tires. Are all 15" Corolla rims that are 5x100 compatible? I found a set from a 2011Corolla but according to the Internet, it has a different 'offset'. The 2011 has an offset of 33mm, while my wife's Corolla has an offset of 40mm. So will an offset difference of 7mm make the rims unusable?

Included below, I found this handy online offset calculator / visual, but ultimately it doesn't tell me if the 2011 rim will fit the 2020 car without causing any issues.

Surely a difference of 7mm won't make a difference. (My biggest fear is caliper interference.)

Yes, but with tax that's $253 (15% sales tax here in NS). I've seen really good used ones for as little as $40 a set on Kijiji. I found a one year old set with only one winter on them for $80.

Question is...will they fit.

Assuming the 2011 wheels are oem, then they should fit. probably better as the TIRE would stick out 7mm more which would look nicer on the 2020.The 15" and 16" oem wheels looks too tucked in the 12 gen corolla IMO. 2011 wheels are 6 inches width compared to your 2020 6.5 inch width. If I'm not mistaken, the 2011 rims with offer you even more caliper clearance and better aesthetics..

Yes, I've been Googling visuals of how wheel 'offset' works and the website I attached previously showed me the 2011 wheels would stick out a tiny bit more. It seemed that the caliper clearance would be fine but I'm just a little paranoid, I guess. Lol!

The newer set I found on Kijiji has the exact offset as the 2011 set I found. The offset change must be quite new.

I've decided to give the used rims a shot. I'll go with the nicer pair and give them a good wire brush clean-up and a couple of fresh coats of gloss black Tremclad. (y)
