With the MAF calibrator now plug and play, and the Thorley headers now at GB price, my question to you all is, which one requires less money (as both require something addtional to the parts themselves. MAF cali requires tuning and wideband 02 sensor, and headers require o2 sim. Which one requires less work and money, but gives me a better return in performance?

I would think DT headers and sim would give you the best gains. MAF cali is great if you have an aftermarket cold air intake.
