wont accelerate until engine is warmed

Husband just replaced engine in 94 toyota truck with an engine from a 91.
Here's the problem.... have to drive until engine is totally warmed up before it is able to accelerate to 50 mph. Thanks for any assistance.

There could be a timing issue or some sort of sensor try checking the temp sensor it is most likely to be the cause of it.:thumbup:
