Here is the deal. I found an AE92 at a local junk yard by accident the other day looking for parts for my 93 AE101. I've been looking to build a track car lately, and this seems to fit the bill. It was driven in, which means the engine and driveline should at least function.

I need to know how much it would set me back to get the following parts:
Everything outwards from the axle on the drivers side front (wheel bearing, brakes, etc)
New passenger side headlight motor
Passenger side seats and the accessories to mount it (I assume most other 6th gen seats will work here?)
Wheels (I don't remember if these are 4 or 5 lug, and it had no wheels/tires on it)

Car otherwise seems intact body/frame rise. It was muddy so I was unable to get under it to inspect the undercarriage. Everything seemed there under the hood, including the 4AGE. How would I go about having it transported, as it is obviously not drivable at the moment and doesn't even have any wheels, but it is only about 15 miles from my house. Nothing I could rent to haul it off is there?

Finally, if I decide I want it, what should I offer for it? Paint is in fairly good shape too fwiw, most of the parts appear in decent shape. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I'm guessing around $300 now not including tires/wheels, max, which would include anything unforeseen in the "Get it rolling" stage, and steel wheels/tires are a dime a dozen. Are the parts off other 6th gens like the front brake calibers and wheel bearings interchangeable with the AE92, or does it take special parts?

EDIT: And let the price be assuming it runs without major issues; transmission works and the engine runs normally. If it won't run I won't buy.

I've seen people like Wonderbread aka 4agetercel fixing AE92s rusted to shit that no one would think of fixing... I'm sure this is not that bad.

If it has hubs and you can put wheels on it, haul it onto the back of a ramp-type tow truck. I'd recommend driving it home too except I caught that whole "no brakes" thing and even someone as irresponsible as myself won't recommend engine braking 15 miles home.

If you get it, PM me... I've got a spare headlight motor that I'll send your way very cheaply.

Wheels are 4 lug with 100mm spacing.


The big question of if it's "worth it"... hmmm... I personally wouldn't make a track car out of an AE92, I'd buy a mk1 MR2 for about the same price. I also wouldn't restore it as that's just a waste of time and money. I would definitely buy it cheaply, fix it cheaply, and drive it like a maniac until it broke and then turn it into a mini-truck conversion. Just something to think about.

All it has is an axle on the right front :lol: I wish I could drive it home, would save me some money... I guess if I could some how scavenge parts from the other 4 or 5 6th gens they have I could drive home, but are all the parts needed to get it down the road there on those cars?

So, assuming it runs (otherwise, no deal), $400? Also keep in mind it has minimal interior, though that is not a huge concern as interior parts for these are cheap and plentiful.

I wouldn't bother then... looks like they're already parting it out, if the axles were still there and it was driveable or at least tow-able, then yeah maybe as you could rent a car trailer from U-haul and find a budy with a truck and tow it home.

That's what 4agetercel did with my old GTS, $50 at U-haul and his dad's truck and she's gone.

I would say hold out for a better deal, I see AE92s for cheap all the time... there's a few in the US on the For sale forums right now.

hold out for one that is road drivable. parts are accessable and they are the best looking corolla to not be faetured in a gran tourismo game...ever! rather upsetting really. anyways i see them non-stop in the yards, hardly ever a decent running one here in cali. may not be any rust but damnit i need it to run. i would pick one up again if I could. once I get a garage, o0o0o baby thats the car. lots of fun to drive and decent on millage. but as a track car, if you want an all around car, i would say mk1 mr2. 50/50 weight ratio, rwd and an extensive aftermarket support. good luck!
