Would you pay to upgrade to TRD cloth?

I have a line on an entire interior from a TRD-trim'd doublecab for $300. Looks to be in great condition.

Currently I've got the SR5-trim cloth in my doublecab and it's in absolutely mint condition, but I do find myself missing the leather of my old highlander. I bought this truck used, originally I was looking for a TRD but couldn't refuse the deal I got on this one.

I guess on the plus side, I'd have a complete interior as spare in case I destroy a seat or something

Would you pay $300 to upgrade to TRD cloth?

yes. Seats are way more comfortable
I really need to get my ass more acquainted to the TRD seats... I did take a test drive in an '09 with leather and that was amazing.

I believe that's what this seller has done, is upgrade to leather.
Are you talking about the whole seats?

TRD seats and SR5 seats are diferent, the TRD seats (Sport Seats)are bigger and better than SR5s.

The cloth of both seats aren't intercheangeble, even the seat covers are diferent.

I would say that $300.00 for a set of sport seats is ok IMO.

Test the new seats before buying and decide if it's worth the money.
So what are you getting for $300? Just the upholstery or the whole seats?
The TRD seats are different than the non-TRD, so I wouldn't imagine the fabric would fit too well.

EDIT: Beat me to it Mandy...
Sorry, to be clear, I am getting both front seats including airbag wiring and an entire rear doublecab seat. $300.
When I think about the cost of a complete set of Wet Okoles shipped, versus this entire drop-in interior replacement...
My covers cost around $80.00 back on 06.
If you can get the whole set of seats front and rear for $300.00 it's a no brainer, ebay your current set later and you can break even or make some money.

Curious about what the seller is going to install in the donor truck,
Whole new custom aftermaket seats?
Why change the back seats?:confused::confused:

I'm asking him about just that. He stated in his ad that he had upgraded to leather.

I know 2009 Tacos have a leather package so perhaps he managed to find a complete interior out of a wreck or even just purchased all the bits from Toyota. I shudder to think what that would cost.

As for breaking even on my SR5 seats, I have my doubts... This seller has had his ad up for a month and not too many bites... Since it's 500km round trip to pick them up, I offered $300 if he meets me in the middle or $250 at his doorstep... We'll see what happens.

If this doesn't pan out I'm definitely investigating leather!

Edit: Thanks for the help Mandy and ForTech :)
Did you see a pic of the seats yet? i would verify that they are indeed TRD seats before making the trip. I've saw many non-TRD trucks on used lots lately with TRD badging. It's possible the owner believes he has a TRD, when in actual fact he may not.

Just a thought - wouldn't want you to make a trip for nothing.
I did indeed:

Look like TRD seats to me, no defects I can discern.

if your a big guy I would keep the SR5 seats. I think the bolsters on the TRD seats are a little tight for larger guys.
thats Canadian dollars rite ?... seems like a decent price to me.. as long as they will fit in place of your existing seats without much hassle...
yup.
