Has any one's XM Trial Subscription on their Venza expired?
I'm over 90 days so I think I'm running on fumes.
If your XM subscription actually expired, how many days after you took delivery did it happen?
Tnx,
J

A related to XM question:
Of those who got the Venza w/XM radio did you receive ANY information regarding the XM radio, radio subscription, the fact there even was an XM radio (outside of the window sticker) or what to do when it expires?
I got absolutely nothing, na da, zilch, zip. Either my dealer messed up or XM is missing an opportunity here.
I know on the sales lit it mentions the JBL upgrade includes satellite radio but that's it. I wonder how many people even realize there is an XM radio included because it's not something Toyota has been bragging about.

My Venza with optional Navigation includes 90 days of XM with NavTraffic. I received a welcome letter from XM after about a month from purchase, with pricing options. The satellite stations are fun to have and traffic feature works excellent, but i'm not certain about subscribing yet. I still have a couple of months for the trial. Audio-only is $12.95/month with some savings if you purchase either a 3-month or 12-month plan.

I to have Nav and the 90 day trial. I received a letter from XM with pricing info.
And the negotiation began. I called the number and told them I really didn't like SAT radio , and that I didn't think I wanted after my 90 days was up. (but I do like SAT radio). They offered it to me for half off the original price and when my 90 days is up in June I will only pay $75.00 for the year instead of $150.00
So far I like it alot I just haven't learned how to program the stations I like yet.

I just purchased my Venza and it dosn't have the nav. . I too was told nothing about the XM subscription , in fact the sales people didn't even know that it had XM until I started to mess with it and got sat. stations.
I got nothing about it with the car. It makes me wonder if XM even knows I have it.
As far as progaming stations , you select sat 1,2, or 3 then find the channel you want and press one of the buttons 1 through 6 til you hear a beep and your done.
I don't want to sound like some other people ( hicks or west ), but the owners manual explains it pretty clearly.
Hope this helps

Happy Driving

So so far the only ones who have received ANY information from XM are those with the NAV. I opted out of the NAV for the Venza after having it on both my previous Camrys so I just have the upgraded JBL radio. I wanted the Bluetooth phone integration but not the NAV.
The reason for the OP was to find out if ANYONE's XM subscription has been cancelled. My salesman sort of in passing said the subscription was for 1 year but I don't know if he REALLY knew that for sure. I'll not call XM until the radio ceases to function. I figure once I call them and give them my serial number they could start the clock ticking if it isn't already. My theory is the radio's are already activated when they leave the radio factory and XM has no clue when they are actually put into service so there is some long trial subscription with each radio. Considering how long cars sit on the lots these days I wonder just how long that trial really is.

It's the dealer, not the factory, who activates the XM trial subscription and its for 3 months staring the day the car is technically sold. It typically takes XM 1 - 2 months to send a deactivation signal but they will eventually do it. You may still receive a few channels after deactivation. Interesting for some is that the deactivation signal is only sent for a period of 6 months so if you had a portible XM radio you could turn it off and put it in a closet or something just before cancelling your subscription. 7 months later you could turn it back on and have a free subscription...

How long would that "free" subscription last? I guess that begs the question on how the whole activation/deactivation process works. Is XM continiously sending activation orders to all it's subscribers? The radio is receive only so it can't replay that it actually received any code and if it happened to be off when the order was sent it would not be activated. Same with deactivation, are those orders being sent and resent just in case the radio happened to be powered off when the order is sent?

Deactivation signals are sent continuously for a period of about 6 months. I do not believe they are sent after that time though nothing would stop XM from doing so if they wanted. Activation signals, I am told, are sent for only 48 hours. If you miss activation you can call XM and they will send them again.

We took delivery in week 3 of January and subscription was active. All the XM channels as far as I can tell. 120 days and counting and subscription is still active. I have no plans on contacting XM until the radio is deactivated.

Same here with the stations - My dealer said that XM would probably be on after the weekend (monday).
With his recard that probably means end of month
I'm having so much fun with the other stuff - I can wait a while for the XM
Cheers

XM has to be activated. Contact dealer and you will need to provide radio id code(tune to channel 000). They will request activation and it should happen within 48 hours. Or you can try to activate yourself.

The procedure is to input your Radio ID at this website http://refresh.xmradio.ca/
and within 1 hour of having done so, to turn on the XM to station 001 for 15 minutes uninterrupted so that it can download all the stations.

Cheers.

Techseller Check with your dealer coz you get 6 months free beforehand.
My dealer said they do the activation and I would be on after the weekend, so that means the gotta do the paper before calling XM.

Then I will follow follow romo28's proceedure for downloading the radio.
Cheers
