Hey, wondering if anyone knows if I can get the 05 corolla XRS stock strut bar from anywhere. And if it will fit my 04 corolla type s? Thanks!

Unless you have upgraded your suspension forget the strut bar......buddy of mine was readiing an article just a while ago about strut bars...anyways it sayed that strut bars on stock or cheap aftermarket stuff will prematurly wear-out your suspension..because it puts to much pressure on your top caps.
So either upgrade your suspension to somthing good....or just get stiffer springs and get bigger rims with less rubber.
Really? I think there are a number of people who would challenge that statement. If you can get the article name from your buddy and post it here this could be an interesting thread.

Hard to image Toyota adding components that would prematurely wear suspension components. Besides I believe the XRS strut bar is more about dampening vibration than adding rigidity.

I find that very hard to believe:rolleyes:
Find it hard to believe also, but can anyone help me? You think its a better idea to go with a TRD or Megan Racing strut instead of the XRS strut bar?
Like said above... The one from the XRS is more of a damper not a strut bar. Its got a shock in it so it has give to it... wont stiffen your chassis. Im running the Megan Racing strut bar. A strut bar will tighten you up on stock suspension, but to really feel a difference you need to go with a good set of springs and maybe some shocks to feel anything.

Stay away from the XRS bar... its a piece IMO, and probably overpriced since you can only get it from the dealership right now. :thumbdown
Thanks polo708, how is your Megan Racing strut working out?
It does its job... I can definately tell its there
Glad to hear, but do you have any other mods for suspension, like springs, shocks, tires? If so, maybe the strut is doing all that it should. ...If you just have the strut, i trust you, and probably will be getting it soon. :)
