Looking for a replacement for the OEM radio. I have read numerous posts about different brands, etc. I have seen radios that come with the whole dash piece and then ones that are just the radio. Are there any ones that I should stay away from and any that are good?

I have seen ones from China, etc that look good, but I'm not sure as to how they sound and fit. Any body have any experience with these? I have a buddy who has a Pioneeravh-200ex that he doesn't use and it should fit,but I'm not sure if there would be any gaps, etc.

Let me know your suggestions/experience with what you have and any links I should check out. Thanks

I own a 09 Matrix and I'm using a Pioneer avh 211 ex which is similar to the 200 ex. It's been great, I've added a sub woofer to it and installed a reverse camera. I would just suggest getting that unless you're into car play then you would have to purchase a radio from Pioneer or another manufacturer with that feature as well.

Boss BVCP9675A

I upgraded my stereo around a year ago. Ebay & Amazon is full of Chinese systems that are in the shape of the dash. The upside is a perfect fit, large screens and real volume knobs. The downside is the software. I have used navigation on some of the chinese systems and i would suggest you run far away from them. Apple/Google/Waze maps are not only much more superior to these Chinese systems but are actually better than all luxury vehicle infotainment systems themselves.

I personally went for an after market stereo with Carplay. I wanted nothing fancy and ended up getting a BOSS carplay stereo for $220. Also had to order a 2-DIN & wiring harness and a rear view camera for like $30. I didn't have any good pictures so took screenshot from a couple of video I had. Sorry for the terrible angle & quality.

The other option is to get a android based system for a corolla. This would have google maps and you can basically add stuff like a carplay dongle to it. Endless possibilities with android.

I love apple carplay. Really responsive, looks great and has great apps. It is the future and i was happy to get it for <$250.

For carplay pioneer 2300/2330 nex is a good option as well but has a resistive screen as compared to the boss capacitive screen.

I think a modern Android 10 head unit will fit your Toyota Corolla 2010 perfectly. A few days ago, I just upgraded my Toyota corolla 2007 head unit with XTRONS PST90CLT which I have compared with a lot of devices. XTRONS has the best cost-performance ratio with the DSP feature, full rca feature, gps, bluetooth and so on. What you need to stay away are the other general double din or single din car stereo as they don't usually have many features.

The ones I looked up come with a surround kit for the opening.

I got a Sony earlier this year and came with a surround kit. It actually looks factory. Mine is a metra kit if I recall correctly. No warps at all. Looks like it was 3D printed.

Here's what available from crutchfield. Didn't filter it out for the brands. They sell a kit so that you can retain the steering wheel controls also.

ok. My Corolla doesn't have the steering wheel controls. Would you be able to share a pic of your Sony in your Corolla?

This is a digital setup. Touch screen and 2 USB cables. The kit that is supplied by crutchfield included a harness to plug into the factory harness. You can pay extra for crutchfield to crimp the wires for you.
