I've had my new Highlander SE for right at 2 months now and overall love it so far. One thing I have noticed on our security cameras playing back is when we are backing it out of the garage, the LED daytime running light bars flashing. It isn't every time but happens more times than it doesn't. Don't know if it has something to do with low voltage while it's in reverse and basically idling out of the garage or what is causing it. I haven't noticed it during the times I have seen it coming down our street as my wife comes home or any other time. To be honest, I would not have even noticed it had it not been for our cameras but since I have noticed it, it bugs me somewhat. Anyone else noticed this on their 2017's?? I have our first maintenance appointment setup for December at the dealership and will mention it then but just curious if it is a common problem others have noticed.

Do you see the DRLs flashing in real life versus on your security camera playback? It's most likely just the way your security cams are recording - I see that a lot in my dash cams videos.

The few times I have had my wife or kids watch in person when backing out of the garage, they say the DRL's aren't blinking. When you playback camera, sure enough they aren't blinking either those times. I did first think at first it was just the camera recording it that way but it is not consistent. It is like the typical scenario with anything of having an issue but when you try to catch the issue in the act, presto, all is good.

Some of the YouTube review videos show the DRLs flashing, also. It’s has to do with the scan frequency of the camera kind of like how CRTs look on video. Either than or it’s a Paranormal Activity-type phenomenon, in which case you have a lot more problems to worry about than your Highlander DRLs
