I wonder why the hybrid camry get's the acoustic noise-reducing windshield and the other camrys don't. Has anyone seen one of these windshields? Stuctually what makes them different? Are they thicker or what. How do they work?

Hey thanks alot. Man you need a library card to read that. It was an interesting article. One would think that they'd put those in all the Camrys. I noticed that on one of the Avalons trim level, that it also has the re-duced noise windshield.

boy that was a long article. basically the difference between acoustic noise-reducing windshields and normal windshields is the materials. typical windshield sandwich a laminate between two layers of glass... in the case of the acoustic windshield, the laminate is made out of a different material that has auditory damping properties. i imagine this type of material might be more expensive, so car manufacturers don't use it often.

So that means the Camry Hybrid makes more noise then the regular Camry engines? I would think a V6 should make more noise then a hybrid, they should've at least put the window on the XLE's.
