WeasyS2S (http://www.sea2skytuning.com/) is a very active member in the Toyota truck & MR2 forums, and has been involved with tuning 5vz-fe's, and truck / SUV's, and MR2's for years. Now he has progressed into deals to having 5vz-fe camshafts made at good pricing. Along with 3vz-e camshafts. (See threads on truck/mr2 forums) Because most mechanical work & R&D applies to both 3vz & 5vz engines, he has been gracious enough to start supplying 3vz-fe cams alongside his 5vz-fe cams.
Toysrme himself will be dyno testing, and endorsing various camshafts to find the most fitting profiles to different applications. Cams will range between mild street cams that will gain both power, and economy without sacrificing against the stock cams, to somewhat wild camshafts requiring modifications to take advantage of them.
The first sets should become available in early '06 (February/March). Pricing and finer details will be coming out closer to launch.
Noone has compared them yet in person, but there exists the possibility that 2vz-fe cams also use the same dimensions. Anyone that would supply, or could measure a pair of camshafts (with pictures, or drawing a diagram) would be a big help.
Merry Christmas.
And for the record, this is not like past large Camry projects that may, or may not ever pan out. The work is, and has been going on.
