Auto Highbeam Sensitivity

Is there any sensitivity adjustment to the auto highbeam? I don’t think there’s any in the actual car, but in techstream? My 2015 I’ve found they work great about 90% of the time, but the other 10% of the time is making them to not be a useable feature. What I’m finding is if a vehicle with brighter (perhaps LED or just halogens aimed up too far) lights is followed by a vehicle with not as bright of lights, the car turns the highbeams on again after the first car has passed and then blinds the car behind them when they’re about 50 yards away, at which point I have to jump and pull the stalk towards me to turn off the auto portion.

Near page 453 in the O/M. The customizable features are only on or off. 90 % is about the same as my 2014 also. Try cleaning the windshield glass, and the camera lense carefully! Although Toyota does not recommend it , they say the lense may get dirty??? Also make sure nothing is too close to the camera. On or near page 172 is a bunch of reasons why they don`t work 100 %. Pulling back the stalk might be the only option?

I do have the glass clean and noticed there was some "light/normal" dust across the front of the camera so I carefully wiped it clean with a 303 misted new microfiber. I see the newer cars with the camera attached directly to the glass that some have to remove the camera and clean between the camera and glass but not sure how much that newer setup (I think the 16-18 have a cover over the base of the mirror as the auto headlight sensor and lane guidance cameras/sensors are up there hidden, and perhaps the rain sensor too) varies in how well it works or if it's the exact same.

I’ve wondered if having replacements that are brighter than stock effect it actually. I have Osram Cool Blue Boost d4s bulbs that are slightly brighter than stock plus I have LED headlights and fog lights. So my light output on low beam (don’t think the fogs have much of an effect since they’re close range) is slightly brighter than what it’s expecting and my high beams are way brighter than it’s expecting. I was hoping techstream had some sort of calibration that was something like “go sit in complete darkness on an asphalt or concrete road with no signs, trees or obstacles to reflect light with the high beams on” calibration utility to calibrate the system to the ‘baseline’ of the current bulb setup, but I can’t find anything to do with the auto highbeams in techstream. Most I can find is some auto headlight sensor stuff in the data list under the main body module. No other modules have anything to do with exterior lighting I find other than the headlight leveling module.

I could see maybe it looking too bright or maybe scattered if replacing the high beams with LEDs. I have a LED kit just for the fog lights and it's much brighter than my 9005 high beam bulbs . Used to be LEDs didn't always do well with the quad beam headlights. Nowadays the bulbs and the LEDs are much better.
