Bolted a set of 17" FJ wheels with 265/70/17 tires and am having major problems.....

I have taken it to 2 places to have the tires balanced, and it is barely drivable. I have never had a car shake so bad due to tires being out of balance. One of them must something really wrong with it.
I am at my office now and conveniently their is a tire shop in the same parking lot so my truck is there now for them to diagnose it. I am getting to be concerned though because 2 previous places were unable to get it done.
I wonder if I have a tire that is out of round? Would it be able to be be balanced if it were out of round?

When I bought my wheels one of the stud holes was off a hair and the truck would shake very badly. Had to get a new wheel before I could go the speed limit on the highway. Have a shop measure the bolt holes. Where the wheels new/used? I would also take it back to the place you got the tires and have them drive it.

I used to work at a tire shop. I would say there is some issue with the way the wheel is fitting on your hub. The way you describe it, it sounds like it is a lot more than just a vibration if you are saying its barely drivable. If it were an issure with the tire, you would probably see huge seperation in the tread and a tire shop would easily spot that. I dont think its a bent rim. The rim would probably have to be bent so bad that it would not hold air and a tire shop would see that. I worked at a BMW dealership in the tire shop and I saw lots of BMWs with bent rims and half of the customers didnt notice.
