Hi just joined and just bought a 09 corolla LE. It does not have keyless entry so I would like to add OEM keyless. I have tried to put the car into program mode but have been unsuccessful. So my next step is to locate the receiver. One place said it was in the C pillar. I looked and not there. So I'm looking for some help locating the receiver or at least where it should be. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the responses. I looked in the upper part. I'll check where shown today. I'll take a picture of the area to post. I would guess if no receiver is present the harness would be and I would just buy a receiver?

Went to dealer today. Everything says c pillar but, not there. I located a 12 pin connector on the right side of the trunk. This could be the plug for the module. The part number the dealer priced is 89741-02150. Cost is 471.99. More than I want to spend on it. Maybe look for a donor car. Thanks for your help on this.

Thanks, Corolla. Yes I'm interested. I would spend that on it, however, I haven't been able to locate the harness in the car. I saw a picture of the module on ebay and it had a five wire plug on it. I did not see any unused plugs in the area where the device goes. Any thoughts?

I be happy to rip mine out for you, and go get an aftermarket for that price, an alarm. and I can gladly walk away from my car, knowing it will lock by itself, and disarm 10X further than Toyota's one I have.

Would you not be better off getting an alarm system that does it all?

Basically I don't really like cutting into the wiring. I know it.s done every day with no problem. I checked into getting an aftermarket system and it was the same amount as the Toyota part so I will stick with Toyota. If you would like to donate yours I can provide a mailing address. Let me know.

Ok, here's the latest. Corolla I bought the part on eBay for a hundred bucks. It should be here tomorrow. I am confident it will work.i have been going through the exercise of trying to put the car into program mode without success. I realized that I am not putting the car into program mode I am trying to put the receiver into program. Well, there is not a receiver present. If the part arrives tomorrow I will install and try to put in program. I have only one key for the car so if I get one with buttons in addition to the transponder only a. Few extra dollars and I have keyless entry. I have a hookup for transponder programming so that isn't an issue. I'll advise on my progress.

Receiver arrived today and I bought the most expensive key ever from Toyota. Installed the receiver and now I am able to get the car to put receiver in program mode. But the key is not programming to the receiver . I looked up the part number and it says Camry. Hopefully it's just the wrong part. Any suggestions

Success!! Installed receiver part #897041-02150 that I got on ebay for a hundred bucks. Went to dealer and bought a key. It was the wrong key so I found a different part #89070-02270 and this is the correct key. Got it home and was able to program key no problem. Still need the beeper to complete system.

New goal, try to get the trunk to open with keyless. It looks like there may be some wires on the latch but it does not work with the keyless as I expected. Any thoughts?
It took a while and was a little expensive but was worth it to me. Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks for everyones help

It's manual now. So it's opened by key or cable from the front. I was thinking the wires at the trunk latch would be for electric actuator or possibly trunk closed switch. Similar to the door switches. Maybe the keyless receiver doesn't have this function. Just starting to look into it. Would you know where the harness is located for the beeper for the keyless is located? I have seen illistrations showing it located on the front left quarter panel.

No power locks

Glad to hear things worked out. I am considering a purchase of an 08 Corolla CE that does not have power locks or windows. Does anyone know if the wiring harness is ready in the door to add the power lock component's.

I' m a bit late on this but I thought I would bring this to a close. The car Has the wiring for keyless entry.
The wiring for remote trunk opening and the beeper is also present.
The beeper is in the front of the front left wheel. The wheel well liner needs to be removed.
The trunk latch must be replaced with the electric latch. I have not done this yet but I have tested the wires and I know it will work. I suggest buying keys somewhere other than the dealer.
I was unable to program the transponder so I went to dealer for that.

Thanks again for everyone's input.
