My 2022 Highlander XLE Hybrid missing DRL LED Light strip... anyone else?

Just got my car a few weeks ago and took me a bit to discover that my headlamp cluster has an empty slot where the LED Daytime Running Lights strip should be. Such a let down!

Took it to the dealership a few times for help and it seemed to be news to them. Apparently other new 22's they had on the lot delivered in the same condition. Assumption they gave is that the 2022 XLE Hybrid has the lo-lamps as the DRL and the empty slot was normal. However can't find this distinction is any of the specs or Toyota marketing. Could this be a supply chain issue or a mistake on the manufacturer? Or is it truly not standard on this trim level?

HELP! Anyone else have this issue?

It's under the full specs on the Toyota website. Only XSE and above get the LED Strip DRL.

XLE
LED projector headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
XSE, Bronze & Limitied
LED projector headlights with black accents and LED-strip Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Platinum
LED projector headlights with Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS), auto leveling and LED-strip Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

Auto makers will penny pinch anything when they are shuffling around features year to year. For example, the 2016-2020 Kia Optima had at least 5 or 6 different headlight modules during that generation.(Bi-HIDs for one year, different combinations of halogen projector and reflector low and high beams, with or without LED DRL strips, and dual projector LEDs.) Many features that were standard on my 2018 Optima(was rear ended and totaled) were gutted out in later model years at the same price point as Kia was forced to respond to the fact that Toyota was putting TSS as standard in all of their vehicles.

DRL strips are basically aesthetics, as Toyota and Mazda typically like to use headlight LEDs as DRLs so it probably was an easy thing to cut to get projectors to lower trim levels.

My 2023 XLE Hybrid too, it's just a completely inexcusable cheap move by a major car manufacturer to keep costs down, which makes no sense, since they have them on every model car from Corolla up. They should replace every Highlander headlight that doesn't have it as a recall issue for safety purposes. That's why they were added in the first place and to omit them is a statement by Toyota that your safety is not priority, even when spending 40k+ on their vehicles. This was an avoidable mistake by Toyota and something they should fix.

On the subject of DOT standards....I there a safety standard for the min&max brightness of head lights and DRL? There used to be...when all vehicles had to use the round or rectangular glass incandescent headlamps. Nowadays it seems like most newer vehicles have blindingly bright headlights on low beam, especially Ford F150 pickups. I suspect the brightness regulation has gone away, along with the windshield tint and noise level criteria.
