I know ... I want to because of the price but ... I was thinking of either going with a Corolla Trueno Ae111 or a EP92 Starlet

 

ahh well, there is no contest for me, a Starlet especially the EP92 is a great way to go, however i am unsure of aftermarket parts for the 4E-FTE engine....the Trueno AE111 may be more practical for your idea of pushing the N/A engine to the limits...that is the 20v 4AGE in those correct? you can go nuts with all kinds of "all motor" upgrades on that, but you probly already know that

i am saving up as we speak to make my Starlet dream a reality within the next 2 years

AE111 is great n/a car black top 20valve but I would have to swap out the 6speed for a 5speed because their is not after market support for the 6speed... As in gearing wise...

black top 20v are very nice, i considered either that or a silver top for my MR2 swap, but wanted one car to be boosted somehow, so its 4AGZE all the way for me

if this whole unemployment thing hadn't hit so hard i was halfway to saving up for a starlet to have it imported & completely legalized which is more expensive, but i want it for a regular driver as well as track/auto-x

it would be super cool for ya'll to race either a starlet or trueno though then you would really be mad tyte jdm yo! :
