I just started driving a 1982 Corrolla and when I pulled it out the thing was fine, the brakes activated HARD when you only pushed about an inch down on the pedal (from starting position), but as I drove it the brake pressure suddenly dropped to the point where i had to floor the brake just to get it to come to a slight stop. There was no resistance in the brake pedal until about a half inch from the very very end of it's swing. We went and checked the brake fluid pressure at Lordco, and topped up on fluid, but the brake still didn't respond. Although it hasn't changed yet when I pump the brakes repeatedly the brakes rebuild pressure to about halfway through the swing and they respond nicely, but still not enough.
ANther problem is the steering is off and I think the solution to the problem above is my frnt right brake isn't disengaging properly because I recently started hearring a slight scraping noise and that wheel well heats up rapidly and the rotor's been severely scored.
Any ideas on how to get my brake to disengage again or what is wrong with my braking system?
