I'd roll the dice on it for a couple hundred dollars, but I'm very comfortable with electrical work. Agree $900 is too much, but for a few hundred you'll make money even if you end up parting it out.
Are those relays and fuses actually bad or did the outside just get burned from the hot alternator wire? If the latter, I would bet it just needs the alternator wire replaced and a new fuse.

Draw a schematic of how you figure all those circuits will be damaged by a short circuit between the main alternator wire and the chassis. Think about it for a few minutes...

Nice work! I really didn't think the whole car would be fried just from an alternator short, that just doesn't make any sense at all lol.

I'd start by figuring out which pin is which in that fuse box, and see if there is something in common between the pins that are most charred.

I'd be worried that if there is no CEL, and with the O2 sensor (im just calling it that) disconnected, the computer might be fried as it should absolutely be throwing a light....

There is a 2 trip detection logic on the A/F sensor codes, so he'll have to drive it for a bit before the codes show up.
