Sounds like it is way out of alignment.

Can you describe what "pulls sharply in opposite directions" means? Not sure what it is doing.

 

So it typically only happens if I'm making a wide turn, like getting on a new freeway. As I turn it'll quickly pull sharply in the opposite direction and then goes back to normal.

 

Alignment issues. A car will pull to the side with the least camber so probably need to have it realigned. When you replaced the tie rods did you count the turns? That’s usually what you do so the alignment will be off the least possible amount.

 

I had my mechanic change switch them out( who used to work for Toyota) and then went to firestone to have it aligned.

 

Worn suspension bushings can also cause this. But unless the alignment guy was a little cross eyed maybe he could have messed up but I doubt. It’s suspension worn and flexing causing it to change steering angle which gives you a understeering feeling.

Yep sounds like control arm bushings once again.

Would i be better off replacing the whole arm, instead of the actual bushing?

 

Better off only bushings. No one makes good control arms anymore other than factory. Retain original metal, replace bushing.

If you would like, you can ask them to inspect the bushings. The cars ganna be on the rack anyway. For a 2000 that’s too old. I wouldn’t ride in that thing even if I got paid to.
