DUDE!!! YESSS!! I wanted to do the same thing. What projectors did you end up using?

What temp do you bake your housings as to separate them? Could I also see a close up of the projectors more from the side with them off in the day when you get a chance?

 

I didn't do them myself, but get them done by Tony R. from the Ford Forums. He's done a few for me now. I was going to do my oem corner lenses and he told me 170 for 10-20 minutes but to watch it. I know he uses quality sealant that is used in OEM headlights. Here's the pics you requested.

 

Awesome stuff! I was thinking of using the slightly square lenses on mine. The factory reflectors scatter to much light from standard hids I like 4300k personally.

 

Okay. I tend to go with the shape of the front fascia since this older model Sequoia is curvy and rounded vs squared off I went with the round. Does look like an eyeball but it looks absolutely awesome at night.

What you see on there now is 4300k. Perhaps the pics and angle I took them make them look slightly blue. But even at 5k with a hint of blue they look great too. But of course with projectors you get that color shift.

What does the back look like? Can you still use the weather boot?

 

How much does your guy charge for the retrofit ?

 

This particular setup is 505 including the aftermarket OEM style headlights, Morimoto D2S bulbs, 45W HID ballasts, and Morimoto wiring harness and shipping. I just purchased my 02 and I opted to replace the OEM housings. I put some 3M PPF film on them to help with any road debris. It would be cheaper of course if you are using some of your own stuff.

Here's my old truck with I believe the Morimoto 3.0 and Morimoto Fogs with yellow film. I tend to like the OEM housings with the retrofit to make it look as stock as possible. I tried those black housings but didn't like the look.

 

Always love a good retrofit! Looks great with the blue-tinted lens. Nice output too.

 

Would the 5.0 projectors work with the 55-watt kit?

 

do you remember roughly how much it cost to get this done? Getting very tired of the lack of aftermarket options and thinking this may be the way to go.

 

Also looking to do this, even if it's kind of expensive / hard. The OEM headlights are a danger to my health at night.
