My friend with a 2007 V6 Highlander is putting a sound system into his Highlander and he needed some more juice out of his dying 100 amp alternator to power it. After reviewing pictures and using AS-PL Rotating Electrics - Starter motors, Alternators, Parts for starter motors and alternators | AS-PL Sp. z o.o. (fantastic site) to compare, the Sienna alternator has a slightly different shape, but has the same mounting points and connector. I gave him the go-ahead and it fit perfectly! Part number is "DENSO 2100539" from RockAuto.

This is a direct fit for any vehicle that uses the 3MZ-FE engine, including the 2004-2007 Highlander. This alternator will bolt up to a 2001-2003 with the 1MZ if you're willing to make an adapter for the wiring harness. The 1MZ uses the older 3-pin design, whereas the 3MZ alt has the newer 4-pin plug.

Yes sir! With the right tools.... I purchased a de-pinning tool kit from Amazon for $20 a few years ago and got really good at it now!

If you arent comfortable doing this by all means go with the adapter 👍

Well done, man! First confirmed case on an 01-03 right here! I have two of the plug and rubber boots lying around from the yard, waiting to be installed should I need a new alt!

I've only used Denso alts with good luck, but had a Remy fail on me in less than 3 yrs

I think @AlexMan may have had / has a Bosch alt so he may have something to say about that
