I have a 2004 Highlander. After fiddling with the temperature control issue for a while (broken wire connection), including trying to re-solder my own connections (big FAIL) and trying the Dorman replacement module 599-040, I am looking to replace the whole dang temperature control panel. My part number is 84010-48180 but I see on eBay part number 84010-48270 from a 2006 Highlander that claims to fit the 2004 Highlander. Of course, I would like to buy the most recently manufactured panel possible, but I also want to make sure it will work for my 2004 Highlander. From the looks of it, they appear to have an identical form factor. Can anyone confirm for sure that 84010-48270 will work as a direct replacement for my 84010-48180?

Thanks for your help!

I am looking at these guys when I need mine repaired. They are the only ones I have found that will repair the faded display on my auto climate control. Looks like they repair yours too.
I haven't used them yet so I can't say from experience, but it looks like they stand behind their work.

DC, I looked at Olathe for fitment because I was curious, and 84010-48270 did not come up on any genuine Toyota site as a legitimate replacement part number.
I know from previous experience that many, if not all, of the manufacturing line part numbers are different from the replacement part numbers you would get from the dealer. It looks like 84010-48270 is the manufacturing line part number marked on an OE part.
If you remove your panel, you may find the same 84010-48270 part number.
But are you buying a used part that might have the same problem?

My part # is 84010-48180. I suppose I will order 84010-48270 and see if it works. My understanding is that the temperature control issue is more prevalent in the 04-05 Highlanders, so this updated part hopefully wouldn't have the same issue.
