Hello Everybody!!

So ever since I had this car has been hard to start (even after I changed fuel pump a year ago)Today I did a fuel pressure test and while the car was running I was about 47psi, which is normal from what I have been told. But one thing I noticed is that the fuel pump does not prime when key is in the run position. Do these vehicles prime fuel?? If so is there a fuse/relay that tells the vehicle to prime. If it does not, could my fuel injectors be to blame?

Any input is welcome!
Thanks in advance!

Just post this but think it applicable here too. Air filter and PEA injector cleaner as in Rislone(double bottle) or Gumout, I like the Rislone for all the extra's like lubricants for injectors and fuel pumps. I've noticed mine starts a lot better after the Rislone. My buddy removed and cleaned his injectors and had good results with that too.

Techron fuel injector cleaner then drive it 100 miles and report back, always told my customers to try that first, versus spending a lot of cash and trying it later, cleans injectors on the car, no labor or parts other than a bottle of Techron. Best first step in fixing your problem. Hold key in run position for a few seconds before cranking.

"Could it have been a faulty pump out the box? Also how would the strainer affect the fuel pressure?"

Possible that the check valve was bad if fuel pressure bled down rapidly after engine shut down.
Strainer wouldn't effect the bleed down pressure but if partially blocked would limit fuel volume.
