hey.. i got an 04 i4 camry and u said that i can turbo mine? correct? lol well how come when iwent to search for a tubro they said that there is no turbo for an i4 camry!! wtf was tat about? i m pissed now cuz i got 105,000 miles on it already idk if its worth it to turbo it now? what u guys think?

who says they don't make one? TRD makes one, and i'm sure there are tons of different types sold on Ebay. honestly, if you really want to improve the suspension, the TRD rear sway bar makes the bigger difference. get springs or coilovers to improve it even more.

FYI, gen 5 is 2002-2004, gen 5.5 2005-2006, and gen 6 2007+

Please do a search next time, there are tons of threads on modifications for the gen 5's.

 

There is no Gen7 Camry. The latest one is the 2010, and that's the 6.5.

Between 2007-2009 are the same thing.

Yours is a Gen5, and some parts you can interchange some not. But there are parts available, so you don't need to interchange.


Please search the forum before starting any new thread.

What about...

Air shocks! Adjustable shocks? Are they just to lower you car up and down for show? Or do they serve a better purpose by actually controlling how soft or hard your ride is?

I seen some nice setups for sell with gauges, switches, and lights! but if there just to lower you car up and down for show i am not to interested yet but if it controls how smooth/soft or rough/hard your ride is then i will go out an buy one of these things!

get coils so u can adjust it, or go air with using a switch, idk more about air anyway

So I explained how I test drove a 2008 camry SE! The comfort was insane! I went down all the normal roads I would normally! BIG CHANGE!

My best friend told me not to get the air shocks and that coilovers ad a better way to go!

the most i know about them are for lowering you car!

But do they serve a better purpose to make your ride smooth? I mean really smooth!

So if coilovers lower your car, by lowering your car does that make your ride smooth or rough? The higher the car is raised by the coilover the smother the ride or what? bow does that work!

I would like make my ride smoother! I don't really care about lowering it so much for looks i am into more performance right now! but if lowering it by coilovers makes it smoother and by raising makes its rougher well i will invest on some coilovers!

So i have been looking for a front strut bar for my 05 camry!

I found one that is a TRD that cost $250="Ouch"

Everywhere i have called around they say they don't make strut bars for GEN6 Camry!

Searching and searching i found a strut bar for $19.95 made by Netami

Coilovers are used for better handling performance. You can adjust the ride height. They are not for a smooth ride at all, they will be very rough. You can change the dampening to soften them a bit but not to be smooth. They will give you great handling though and a much more stable car, with little to no body roll. To make things clear for you, You either want performance or comfort, you can't really have both.

You can buy a UR front strut bar for like $110 bucks shipped i think, if the price hasn't changed. You can find a lot of info if you search the forum. Check out the long threads.

I made the same mistake! I was told it is custom! Can't be found no where either!

My question is....

If you wrote down the specs (from his page) and all the stuff he is selling and made a check list buy each part and have it fitted wouldent you have yourself a TURBO?

My camry just turned over 70k couple days ago! It worries me but when i see a camry gen 2 passing me on the freeway when i am going 75MPH I just think how long my car is going to last me as long as i take car of it that of course!

Ok so what about RIMS!

I have been told it not as easy as just getting a "dope set" of rims and putting them on your car! I was told that you have to change some suspesnsion and you would adjust the engine to handle the new "size gauge" and all this complex stuff!

getting rims are hard becasue one you get the if you dont like them well tuff!

having a custom turbo isn't as easy as buying some parts and bolting them on. a turbo has a drastic impact on your car's motor, and without doing a ton of research you're likely to do a lot of harm. that being said, no one here is going to make a shopping list for you. peach and gene are the ones who had turbos, perhaps you should ask them.


and you certainly don't have to do engine mods to put new wheels on, idk who told you that, but they're full of crap.

and you don't have to change suspension to put wheels on either..

I put the obx headers and down pipe on my 05 2.4azfe camry and the 02s didnt reach there place for them so now im throughing a code and also it wont let me do a cold air without leaning out and stalling. Beside put old exhaust on anyone have any ideas?

Ok i went there. I see there are more sticks then i thought but mine was still made in japan. From what i know japan uses higher grade steal then we do. Either way the people with the usa made sticks have the same problem with 2nd wen its cold. But i have 180,000 and i havnt had the head bolt problem (knock on wood)
